Raiders Struggle To Get The Bats Going, Lose 5-0

NICEVILLE, Fla. - Northwest Florida Raiders fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 5-0 loss to Lurleen B. Wallace on Tuesday. Lurleen B. Wallace took the lead on a sacrifice fly in the second inning. The Saints got things started in the second inning when Jake Wilson's sac fly scored a run for Lurleen B. Wallace.

A single by Blake Cavill in the first inning was a positive for Northwest Florida Raiders. Colby Jones recorded a hit in the second inning but, the Raiders did not record another hit from there on.

Wilson Perkins took the loss for Northwest Florida Raiders. The righthander went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out three and walking one. Trenton Burnett came in relief, giving up 3 hits and 3 earned runs in the 5th.

From the 6th inning on, the Raiders pitching staff only allowed two base runners with Will Boylan, Malachi Witherspoon, Kyson Witherspoon, and Colin Linder finishing out the game.

Northwest Florida falls to 3-6-1 on the year, the Raiders will be back at home on Friday, February 17th vs. Motlow State for a double header at 1:00 and 4:00 PM.
