NWF falls in walk-off fashion at Wallace Dothan

A walk-off left Northwest Florida on the wrong end of a 7-6 defeat to Wallace Dothan on Tuesday. Wallace Dothan was down 6-4 in the bottom of the ninth inning when Chaz Salter doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs.

 

The Raider lost despite out-hitting Wallace Dothan 12 to seven.

 

Northwest Florida scored three runs in the second inning on a home run by AJ Frtiz.

 

Cole English earned the win for Wallace Dothan. The righty surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two-thirds of an inning, walking zero. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Ben Steward, Brooks Byers, Garrison Edwards, and Thomas Collier all securing outs and ultimately the victory.

 

Will Cannon took the loss for the Raiders. Cannon lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing one hit and two runs while striking out one.

 

NWF drilled two home runs on the day. Frtiz had a dinger in the second inning. Blake Cavill put one out in the eighth inning.

 

The Raiders tallied 12 hits on the day. Cherokee Nichols, Cavill, and Carlos Guzman all managed multiple hits.
