NWF falls to Florence-Darlington

Northwest Florida watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 8-4 loss to Florence-Darlington on Friday. The Stingers scored on a double by Tate Abbott and a single by Jackson Hoshour in the first inning.

NWF lost despite out-hitting Florence-Darlington nine to eight.

The Raiders notched four runs in the sixth inning. Mason Janz and Wyatt Castoe all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Nathan Williams was credited with the victory for Florence-Darlington. The righthander allowed five hits and two runs over five and a third innings, striking out seven. Landon Gaddis, Harrison Moore, and Matt Poston all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Jake Madden took the loss for Northwest Florida. Madden allowed three hits and four runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out two.

Despite the loss, the Raiders saw the ball well, racking up nine hits in the game. Cherokee Nichols and AJ Frtiz each racked up multiple hits for Northwest Florida. Nichols led NWF with three hits in four at bats.
