Guzman powers the Raider offense in route to win over St. John's River

Carlos Guzman had a busy day at the plate on Thursday, smacking four hits in Northwest Florida's 14-4 victory over St Johns River. Guzman singled in the first, homered in the third, singled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.

 

The Raiders fired up the offense in the first inning. Blake Cavill's sac fly scored one run for Northwest Florida.

 

The offense was just getting started as they notched five runs in the third inning. Guzman, Brant Smith, Diego Guevara, and Tyler Kehoe all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

 

Caleb Reis pitched the Raiders to victory. The ace went six innings, allowing one run on six hits and striking out four. Caleb Gallant and Kelly Crumpton entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

 

Tanner Bauman took the loss for St Johns River State. Bauman lasted four innings, allowing eight hits and six runs while striking out four.

 

NWF launched two home runs on the day. Kehoe had a dinger in the third inning. Guzman had a four bagger in the third inning.

 

The Raiders tallied 16 hits. Guzman, Guevara, Smith, Kehoe, and Cherokee Nichols all managed multiple hits. Guzman went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead NWF.
