Wallace-Dothan hands the Raiders a 6-3 loss
Northwest Florida opened up scoring in the second inning, when Diego Guevara doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
The Raiders evened things up at two in the bottom of the fourth inning. Brant Smith hit a solo homer.
Wallace-Dothan pulled away for good with four runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Kade Snell singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Don Williams doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, Jake Killingsworth grounded out, scoring one run, and Jacob Pierce singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Snell pitched Wallace Dothan to victory. The righthander allowed eight hits and three runs over six innings, striking out two and walking zero. Dylan Dickert and Cole English entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. English recorded the last three outs to earn the save for the Governors.
Caleb Logerwell took the loss for Northwest Florida. The freshman went two and a third innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out one.
NWF smacked one home run on the day. Smith had a dinger in the fourth inning.
The Raiders racked up ten hits in the game. Cherokee Nichols and Austin Kelly each racked up multiple hits. Nichols led NWF with three hits in four at bats.
