Kelly's 4 hits spur Raiders to 7-6 win over Motlow

Northwest Florida ran off with the lead late in the game in a 7-6 victory over Motlow State College on Saturday. The game was tied at five with NWF batting in the bottom of the sixth when Austin Kelly singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

 

Kelly collected four hits in five at bats to help lead the Raiders to victory. Kelly singled in the first, doubled in the second, singled in the sixth, and singled in the eighth.

 

NWF fired up the offense in the first inning, when Kelly singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

 

Motlow State knotted the game up at six in the top of the seventh inning, when Jb Bell was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

 

Will Cannon was credited with the victory for Northwest Florida. Cannon lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out one and walking one. Dante Chirico threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

 

Aaron Osada led things off on the mound for Motlow. The hurler went two and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on six hits. Griffin Meeker and Bryson Givens entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three and a third innings and one and two-thirds innings respectively.

 

Brandon Smith started the game for the Raiders. The fireballer allowed five hits and two runs over three and a third innings, striking out four.

 

Northwest Florida tallied 12 hits in the game. Kelly, Blake Cavill, and Dalton McNamara all managed multiple hits for the Raiders.
