Raiders walk it offf to defeat Motlow in extras

Northwest Florida State College seized victory in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off single at the end of the game to topple Motlow State College Bucks. The game was tied at one with NWF batting in the bottom of the tenth when Mason Janz singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

 

The pitching was strong on both sides. Northwest Florida pitchers struck out 18, while Motlow pitchers sat down 16.

 

Motlow State opened up scoring in the third inning, when Gilbert's sac fly scored one run for the Bucks.

 

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Raiders tied things up at one. Carlos Guzman drew a walk, scoring one run.

 

Jacob Phillips led the Raiders to victory on the pitcher's mound. The pitcher went four and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out eight and walking one.

 

Caleb Reis started the game for NWF. The hurler lasted five and a third innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out ten.

 

AJ Frtiz, Blake Cavill, Tyler Kehoe, Cherokee Nichols, Janz, and Cade Easterbrook each collected one hit to lead the Raiders offense.
