Sarver dominants in 11-0 victory over Mississippi Gulf Coast

Joel Sarver had all the right stuff on Friday for Northwest Florida, allowing zero runs and besting Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College by a score of 11-0.

 

The Raiders scored five runs in the sixth inning. The offense in the inning was led by Austin Kelly, Brant Smith, Blake Cavill, and Cade Easterbrook, who each had RBIs in the inning.

 

A single by Preston Ratliff in the fifth inning was a positive for Mississippi Gulf Coast.

 

Sarver was the winning pitcher for NWF. The hurler lasted six innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out ten and walking one.

 

Alex McWhorter led things off on the pitcher's mound for Mississippi Gulf Coast. The righty allowed four hits and four runs over three innings, striking out two. Noah Nicholson and JC Stogner entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and one-third of an inning respectively.

 

The Raiders racked up ten hits. Smith and Dalton McNamara each managed multiple hits for NWF. McNamara and Smith all had two hits to lead the offense. Northwest Florida was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Scott Mudler made the most plays with ten.
