NWF Baseball Season Ends in Lakeland

LAKELAND, Fla. – Northwest Florida State made an admirable run in the Region VIII Tournament but fell short 5-0 to Santa Fe in an elimination game at Joke Marchant Stadium on Sunday.

Santa Fe starter Robb Adams held the Raiders (32-17) hitless striking out seven and allowing one walk and a pair of hit batsmen.

The Saints scored two runs in the first on a two-out single by Dylan Mock. They added another run in the sixth courtesy of an Armando Albert single.

Northwest Florida looked to have something brewing in the eight when Austin Turner walked and Seth Williams was hit by a pitch, but a double play followed by a groundout ended the threat.

The big blow came in the eighth when Santa Fe strung three hits together to push two more runs across and extend the lead to 5-0.

Dylan DeLucia got the start for the Raiders and allowed three runs on six hits in six innings of work.
