Caleb Reis Named Region 8 Pitcher of the Week

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Northwest Florida State right-hander Caleb Reis has been named Region VIII Pitcher of the Week, the FCSAA announced on Tuesday.

Reis went 2-0 with a 0.60 ERA in two appearances last week. The Marietta, Ga., native tossed a shutout against Pensacola to clinch a postseason berth for the Raiders. In the game, Reis fanned 12 batters and scattered five hits and a walk.

Reis defeated Gulf Coast with a six-inning outing on April 26 in which he allowed one earned run and struck out six.

For the week, he totaled 15 innings and allowed two runs – one earned – on eight hits and four walks while striking out 18.

On the season, Reis is 5-3 with two saves and a 2.48 ERA. He has registered 70 strikeouts in 58 innings on the mound.
