Northwest Florida Baseball Falls at Gulf Coast

PANAMA CITY, Fla. – A seven-run sixth inning sunk the Raiders as Northwest Florida fell to Gulf Coast, 8-6, on Wednesday on the road. 

The Raiders (28-13, 14-7 PC) led 4-1 entering the sixth before 10 of the first 11 batters reached base. Gulf Coast drew three walks and were hit by a pitch twice in the frame.

Nasir Frederick went 3-for-4 in the game with an RBI. Reagan Burford, Cherokee Nichols and Seth Williams each finished with two hits each.

With the loss, Northwest Florida falls one game behind Pensacola for the top spot in the Panhandle Conference standings.

The Raiders take on Pensacola three times to end the regular season beginning with a doubleheader on Friday at the Raider Baseball Complex. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
