NWF Baseball Runs Win Streak to Seven

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Riding a 12-strikeout performance from Dylan DeLucia, Northwest Florida State baseball earned seventh straight win with an 8-1 victory over Tallahassee on Sunday.

The Raiders (27-12, 13-6 PC) scored five on its eight runs with two outs, including three in the second inning. 

After loading the bases, Tallahassee struck out the next two batters, but Tyler Kehoe singled home a pair of runs and Trace Willhoite drove in another run with a hit left.

Carlos Guzman's two-out single in the first got NWF on the board. Guzman later extended the lead to 7-1 with a sacrifice fly in the seventh.

Cherokee Nichols was 2-for-4 on the day with a solo home run in the fourth.

DeLucia fanned double-digit hitters for the second straight outing and the fourth time this season.

Kehoe and Austin Kelly collected two hit each while Willhoite, Seth Williams, and Austin Turner all drove in runs.

Northwest Florida State hosts Gulf Coast on Monday at 5 p.m.
