Raiders Take One of Two at Chipola

MARIANNA, Fla. – Northwest Florida State baseball split a double header at Chipola on Sunday.

Chipola 12, Northwest Florida 2

Chipola scored all 12 of its runs in two innings. The Indians leapt out to a 5-0 lead in the first and never looked back adding seven runs in the fourth.

The Raiders got a run in the fourth on a Reagan Burford home run and another in the fifth on a Trace Willhoite RBI single.

Northwest Florida 6, Chipola 3

Nasir Frederick went 2-for-4 with four RBI to lead the Raiders (21-12, 7-6 PC) in the second game of the doubleheader.

Frederick gave Northwest Florida a 3-1 lead with a three-run homer in the fourth. He drove in another run in the sixth when he singled in Burford. Frederick has now hit three homers and driven in 10 runs in his last three games.

Carlos Guzman went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Burford added a pair of hits and scored three times.

Dylan Ross went the distance on the mound striking out six while allowing three runs on six hits.
