Raiders Split Twin Bill at Gulf Coast

PANAMA CITY, Fla. – Northwest Florida baseball spilt a doubleheader with Gulf Coast on Saturday.

Gulf Coast 5, Northwest Florida 4

Gulf Coast scored three runs in the seventh to walk-off with a 5-4 win in the first game of the doubleheader.

With the game tied at two and one out in the final inning, Sean Bencosme hit a three-run, walk-off homer to hand the Commodores the victory.

Reagan Burford and Nick Standridge each finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate. Austin Turner, Carlos Guzman, Cherokee Nichols, and Standridge all drove in runs for the Raiders.

Northwest Florida 15, Gulf Coast 1

Cherokee Nichols went 3-for-4 with six RBI to lead Northwest Florida to a runaway victory in game two.

Nichols hit a solo home run in the second inning, a three-run homer in the sixth, and a two-run double in the fourth.

The Raiders led 2-1 until they exploded for seven runs in the fourth and added six more in the sixth.

Dylan Ross struck out nine batters and allowed one run on two hits over six innings of work.
