Kelly, Willhoite Carry Raiders to Victory
NICEVILLE, Fla. – Austin Kelly and Trace Willhoite combined to drive in 10 runs as Northwest Florida State baseball ran away with a 14-4 win over No. 8 Chipola on Tuesday at the Raider Baseball Complex.
The Raiders (20-10, 6-4 PC) blasted five home runs, including three from Kelly and one each from Willhoite and Nasir Frederick.
Kelly, who entered the game with four homers on the season, hit two-run homers in the first, second, and sixth innings.
Willhoite launched a three-run home run in the third, his fourth of the year, and Frederick went deep for the first time on the season with a solo shot in the second.
Cherokee Nichols also had a nice night at the plate going 3-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.
Dylan DeLucia got the start on the mound and went the full six innings with nine strikeouts on the evening. DeLucia picked up his fourth win of the year and is now 14th in the nation with 64 strikeouts.
The Raiders are back in action on Wednesday against Chipola at the Raider Baseball Complex. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
