DeLucia Solid as Raiders Earn Win

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Dylan DeLucia continues his dominance on the mound as No. 4 Northwest Florida baseball defeated Shelton State, 3-1, at the Raider Baseball Complex Friday.

DeLucia struck out eight over seven innings of work and allowed just one run on two hits. The freshman has now fanned 31 batters in 29 innings and allowed a single run over that span. Caleb Reis tossed two scoreless frames to earn the save.

The Raiders (12-3) opened the scoring in the bottom of the first on a Trace Willhoite RBI double. Nic Nolan singled home Calin Smith in the fifth to extend the lead. Blake Buckle added some insurance in the sixth with an RBI single to score Noah Bailey.

Shelton State got its lone run on a sacrifice fly in the seventh, which was the only inning the Bucs advanced a runner past second.

Northwest Florida and Shelton State square off against Saturday at noon.
