Baseball Defeats Pasco-Hernando, Florida SouthWestern

PALATKA, Fla. – Northwest Florida defeated Pasco-Hernando and Florida SouthWestern Friday to improve its weekend record to 3-0.

Northwest Florida 8, Pasco-Hernando 6

The Raiders (8-2) used a 5-run outburst in the sixth inning to race past Pasco-Hernando in the first game of the day.

Noah Bailey continued to swing a hot bat with a 3-for-3, 2 RBI effort at the plate. Bailey is 6-for-12 with 5 RBIs offensively through three games on the weekend.

Brock Franks finished the game 2-for-3, while Brandon Riera drove in a pair of runs.

Jacob Kush got the start and tossed five innings, struck out eight, and allowed two runs on three hits.

Northwest Florida 3, Florida SouthWestern 0

Northwest Florida scratched out runs in the second, fourth, and seventh innings, and got a complete game effort from Dylan DeLucia in a 3-0 win over Florida SouthWestern.

DeLucia extended his scoreless inning streak to 16 with seven shutout frames Friday. The freshman struck out seven batters and allowed just two hits.

Nolan had two hits in the game, while Zach McKnight and Nasir Frederick earned RBIs in the win.

The Raiders take on Miami Dade Saturday at 9 a.m. The teams previously squared off on Jan. 31, a 2-1 NWF victory.
