Top FSCAA Men's Basketball programs take center stage in Raider Arena for NJCAA Region VIII Tournament

NICEVILLE, FL - Fans of exceptional basketball will want to clear their calendars from March 2-5, 2022. That's because an elite field of eight men's basketball programs has been assembled to take part in the 2022 FCSAA State/NJCAA Region VIII Tournament on the campus of Northwest Florida State College. In the rich history of the tournament, which spans over 60 years, rarely, if ever, has a more balanced field of talented teams collectively been a part of the eventi in the same season than the one on display in 2022.

Entering the tournament, a staggering 75% of the teams (6 of 8) in the field are mentioned in the final regular season NJCAA National Poll and four of those programs reside in the top-14.  It's a loaded bracket with each team having aspirations of not only winning the coveted distinction of being the FCSAA State Champions, but also punching their tickets to Hutchinson, KS to participate in the NJCAA National Tournament.  The balanced field was seeded #1-#8 based on the regular season resumes shortly after all of the eight teams were officially qualified. The process produced an ultra-compelling bracket that is sure to capture the attention of the entire NJCAA.

The quarterfinals, which are set to begin on March 2, feature the following match-ups:

  • #2 Chipoa vs. #7 Polk - 1:00 pm
  • #3 Northwest Florida vs. #6 Eastern Florida - 3:00 pm
  • #1 Indian River vs. #8 Tallahassee - 6:00 pm
  • #4 Florida SouthWestern vs. #5 Santa Fe - 8:00 pm

Note: All times are central standard time
