Bio

Adam Sweeney begins his second year in his second stint with Northwest Florida.

Prior to coming back to Niceville, Sweeney spent one season with New Mexico Junior College as an Assistant Coach. Before NMJC, Sweeney spent 2 seasons with the Wofford Terriers as a Special Assistant to the Head Coach. Sweeney previously worked with the Raiders for two seasons as an Assistant Coach. Sweeney helped guide the team to a 59-8 overall record with two Panhandle Conference Championship titles competing in Region 8 of the Junior College Athletic Association. Sweeney’s duties for the Raiders included: academic oversight (team GPA of 3.3), recruiting, player development, scouting, game planning, strength and conditioning and handling team travel and budget. During his tenure at Northwest Florida State College, Sweeney coached 12 All-Panhandle Conference selections including two player of the year honorees, six all-region selections, two first team All-Americans and one national player of the year.

Sweeney began his career as a Student Manager at Gardner-Webb University in 2011, walking on to the team in 2012. Upon graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Sweeney served as a Graduate Assistant for the Runnin’ Bulldogs from 2015-2017, earning his Master’s in Sport Pedagogy. While working at Gardner-Webb, Sweeney assisted in administrative duties and player workouts as well as academic oversight.
