NWF Women Top Gulf Coast, Move Closer to Panhandle Title

PANAMA CITY, Fla. – Northwest Florida State women's basketball guaranteed itself at least a share of the Panhandle Conference regular season title with a 79-60 win over Gulf Coast on Tuesday.

The Raiders (17-1, 13-1 PC) led throughout aside from the first moments of the first quarter and shot 53.6 percent (30-56) as a team.

Inès Piper finished 5-of-7 to lead the Raiders with 17 points and seven rebounds. Kynadi Kuykendoll was solid with 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting including a career-best four three-pointers. Chanaya Pinto added 14 points on a 5-of-10 effort, while Shelbee Brown chipped in with 12 points and six boards.

Masengo Mutanda had 10 points and seven rebounds in the game, her 10th double-digit effort of the season.

The Raiders can claim the outright Panhandle Conference title for the second straight year with a win at Tallahassee on Thursday.
