
Raiders Claim Two More Victories Following Two-Game Sweep Over LBW Monday
GAME ONE
Hailey Henry powered Northwest Florida State to a 15-3 victory over Lurleen B. Wallace on Monday, driving in six runs on three hits. Henry's standout performance included a grand slam to center field in the third, a run-scoring double in the first, and an RBI single in the fourth.
Lurleen B. Wallace struck first in the opening inning when Chloe Ragsdale singled to bring home a run. However, Northwest Florida State quickly took control in the bottom of the first, erupting for six runs on four hits. Karson McGowan delivered the biggest blow with a two-run double to cap off the rally.
The Raiders tacked on another run in the second, as Lulu Luedtke grounded into a fielder's choice to extend the lead to 7-1. Henry's grand slam in the third put the game well out of reach.
Bre Barnes earned the win, allowing six hits and three runs over five innings while striking out two and walking one. Amiyah Odom started for Lurleen B. Wallace, surrendering seven runs (six earned) on five hits in just one inning of work.
Northwest Florida State racked up 13 hits, with McGowan and Henry each collecting three while hitting back-to-back in the lineup. Anna Grace Griggs added two hits, while Sister Arnold drew two of the team's eight walks.
Ragsdale led Lurleen B. Wallace offensively, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs, while Savanna Clements also tallied two hits.
GAME TWO
Northwest Florida State completed the sweep with an 11-1 rout of Lurleen B. Wallace in Game Two.
The Raiders got off to a quick start, scoring twice in the first inning on a Karson McGowan RBI single and a Lulu Luedtke sacrifice fly. They broke the game open in the second, plating five runs on two hits, including a three-run single from Luedtke.
The offense kept rolling in the third as Anna Grace Griggs' infield single and Hailey Henry's two-run homer to center extended the lead.
AJ Vineski was dominant in the circle, allowing just two hits and one unearned run over five innings while striking out two. Taylor Price took the loss for Lurleen B. Wallace, giving up 11 runs (five earned) on six hits in four innings.
McGowan, Luedtke, Sara Watson, Henry, Griggs, and Lillie Piersol each recorded a hit for Northwest Florida State. Luedtke led the team with three RBIs, while Beebe and Sister Arnold drew two walks each as part of the Raiders' six-walk performance.
For Lurleen B. Wallace, Chloe Ragsdale and Emma Poore each had a hit, with Poore driving in the team's only run.
UP NEXT
The Raiders return to action tomorrow at 1:00 p.m., hosting Wallace-Dothan for another doubleheader. They will then wrap up the week by welcoming Snead State on Friday at 11:00 a.m. for another two-game set.
