Melvion Flanagan Signs with Raiders

NICEVILLE, Fla. – Melvion Flanagan has signed to play with Northwest Florida, Raiders head coach Butch Pierre has announced.

Flanagan, a 6-foot guard from Alexandria, La., was a standout at Peabody High School under legendary head coach Charles Smith, the winningest boy's basketball coach in the state.

"Melvion comes from a winning program," Pierre said. "His high school coach is winningest coach in the state of Louisiana. Melvion's accolades backup what type of player he is, he's just a winner. He can score and distribute the ball; he's done a great job of becoming a well-rounded player."

Flanagan averaged 21.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists the 2019-20 season leading his team to ninth Class 4A state title in school history.
